Tips on troubleshooting, returning and replacing a broken charger for the iPod Shuffle.
The iPod Shuffle relies on a charger that supplies power to the battery of the device via a computer or wall outlet. iPod Shuffle Chargers can break due to many reasons: defective hardware, contact with water, rough care, and occasionally from normal wear and tear. Once a charger is no longer functioning, there is little to nothing that you can do yourself to fix it. New chargers can be purchased very inexpensively online and are your best option when repairing and fixing your charger. Troubleshoot ProblemIf your iPod Shuffle charger is no longer working, try troubleshooting the issue before send the device in for a return or repair. It is quite possible that a simple power cycle may fix the problem. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to determine if, in fact your charger can be fixed or if you need to return or purchase a new one.
After completing the above steps, our computer should now recognize the iPod Shuffle Charger. If the charger still isn’t being recognized it will likely need to be returned or replaced. Return ChargerReturn the iPod Shuffle Charger to the store where it was purchased for repair. Apple products are covered for one year by Apple’s Limited Warranty for iPod. Contact the store where the charger was purchased for eligibility and coverage. The warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, misuse, misapplication or abuse. The warranty will also be void if service and repair is performed by anyone who is not an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Rather than go through the hassle of bringing your iPod Shuffle in for repair and possibly having to send it out for examination, it may just be easiest to purchase a new charger. Purchase New ChargerVisit a local electronics or discount store such as BestBuy, Target, or Walmart to purchase a new charger (if your iPod is out of warranty). These stores all carry the iPod product line as well as iPod Shuffle Chargers that range in price from $15-$30. Online electronics stores or auction sites such as Amazon.com or eBay.com offer chargers for as little as $3.
